What history tracks are stored on your PC

Browser History - browser stores a list of every web site you've ever visited. Browser history is easily accessible from your browse and anyone can see where you have been while surfing the Internet

Search History - autocomplete feature stores a list of everything you type in a web page (your name, email, your credit card information, address, passwords). And anyone who starts filling web form or typing in search box will get drop-down list of information you enetered.


Browser Cache - browser cache is a place to store data from web pages you visited. Cache files are stored on your hard drive. By simply opening cache files anyone can see where you've been online, what movies watched and more...

Cookies - cookies are files that web sites write and store on your computer. Every time you visit a certain website, it will look for its cookie on your hard drive. It uses the information stored within the cookie to know your name, your shopping preferences and other information about you. Locked index.dat files - index.dat files contain records of your online activities - Internet history, cache and cookies.

Clear history tracks in different browsers

How to clear history in Internet Explorer
To clear history in Internet Explorer:
• Select 'Tools'.
• Select 'Delete Browsing History'.
• Click 'Delete all' and then click 'Yes'.

Index.dat files are system files and they can't be deleted manually as they are used by Windows all the time (index.dat files are locked by Windows). Their content is not deleted even if you clear browser history, cache and cookies.
Using Clear All History you can easily clear index.dat files content or delete index.dat files forever.

How to clear history in Firefox
To clear history in Firefox:
• Select 'Tools' -> 'Clear Private Data'
• In 'Clear Private Data' window put the check mark for web history items you want to clear.
• Click 'Clear Private Data Now'.

How to clear history in AOL
To clear history in AOL:
1. In AOL Browser window, select Security and then Clear My Footprints.
2. Click the Clear Footprints button.
This will clear 'Selected Footprints'
You can easily change the list of AOL history footprints you want to clear using 'Select Footprints to Clear' option.
3. Click OK.

How to clear history in Opera 9.0
• Open the Tools menu.
• Select Delete private data
• Click the "Details" button
• Select history items you want to clear.
• Click "Delete".

How to clear Google history

How to clear Google Toolbar history
To clear sGoogle toolbar history:
• Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
• Select the "Clear Search History" option. This will clear all the previous searches from the drop-down box.
This only clears the search history from the Google Toolbar, which is entirely separated from the search history stored by your browser. To completely clear search history you should also clear your browser search history.

How to clear Google history in Internet Explorer 7.0:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "General" tab.
• In "Browsing history" area click the "Delete" button.
• In "Delete browsing history" window, to clear AutoComplete, click "Delete forms" button and then click "Yes".

How to clear Google history in Internet Explorer 6.x:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Click the "AutoComplete" button.
• Click the "Clear forms" button to clear all AutoComplete form data and/or click the "Clear Passwords" to clear restored passwords.

How to clear Google history in Firefox:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Options".
• Select "Privacy".
• In Private area click "Clear Now".
• In "Clear Private Data" window put the check mark for "Saved form and Search History" and click "Clear Private Data Now".
• Click OK.
