Why you should clear Safari history
If you use a shared or public computer, you may want to clear Safari history to prevent others from seeing your history tracks
How to clear Safari history
Select Edit, then Reset Safari.
Remove check marks for history items you don't want to clear
Clear history - clears history of visited websites
Empty the cache- clears temporary files where Safari saves visited webpages
Clear the Downloads window - clears the list of files you've downloaded
Note: this only removes references to files. The files themselves still exist on your disk until you delete them permanently.
Remove all cookies - removes stored cookies
Remove all website icons - removes visited websites icons stored on your computer
Remove saved names and passwords - removes user names and passwords, which Safari stores if AutoFill feature is turned on
Remove other AutoFill form text - removes different personal information, such as name and address which Safari remembers if AutoFill feature is turned on

How to clear Safari history automatically
By default Safari stores visited sites list that lets you easily return to webpages by choosing them from the History menu.
To clear Safari history automatically:
Select Edit, then Preferences.
Select General.
From Remove history items drop-down menu select how often you want Safari to clear the history list.
Click 'OK'
How to clear Safari cookies
Cookies help websites identify you when you return to the website. Cookies are normally harmless, but you may want to clear cookies for security reasons.
Select Edit, then Preferences.
Open General tab.
Under 'Accept Cookies', click Show Cookies.
To delete individual cookies, select cookies you want to delete and click 'Remove'.
To delete all cookies, click 'Remove all' button.
How to clear Safari AutoFill
To clear saved information:
Select Edit, then Preferences.
Open AutoFill tab.
Next to 'Other forms' click 'Edit'. You'll see a list of websites where you normally fill in information such as your name and email address.
Highlight individual websites and then click Remove, or click Remove All.
Click Done.
How to disable Safari AutoFill
To turn off Safari AutoFill:
Select Edit, then Preferences.
Open AutoFill tab.
Remove check mark for 'Using info from my Address Book card' and 'Other forms'.
Click Done.
How to clear Safari download history
By default Safari keeps a list of the items you have downloaded.
Select Edit, then Preferences.
Select General.
From Remove download list items drop-down menu select how often you want Safari to clear the download list.
If you want to clear download history automatically, select When Safari Quits or Upon Successful Download option.
If you want to clear download history manually, select Windows -> Downloads and click Clear.
Click 'OK'
How do I clear Safari cache?
Safari saves visited webpages in the temporary location called cache. Cache helps retrieve webpages faster than getting them from the Internet.
Open the 'Edit' menu and select 'Empty Cache'.
Click 'Empty' to confirm that you want to empty the cache.
