To clear search history in Google toolbar:
• Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
• Select the "Clear Search History" option. This will clear all the previous searches from the drop-down box.
This only clears the search history from the Google Toolbar, which is entirely separated from the search history stored by your browser. To completely clear search history you should also clear your browser search history.
If you want to disable Google Toolbar history, you should:
• Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
• Select "Options".
• Open "Search" folder and uncheck the box next to "Drop-down search history."
How to clear Yahoo Toolbar history
Yahoo! Toolbar store your search history so that you can easily find the things you recently searched.
To clear Yahoo Toolbar searches
• Click the Settings tab or Pencil icon.
• Select "Clear Recent Searches".
This operation just clear Yahoo! Toolbar history but Yahoo! Toolbar will remember your searches in the future.
To prevent Yahoo Toolbar search history in future:
• Click the Settings tab or Pencil icon.
• Select "Toolbar Options".
• Remove the check mark from "Remember Recent Searches".
• Click "OK".
How to clear Yahoo Toolbar search history on browser close
• Click the Settings tab or Pencil icon.
• Select "Toolbar Options".
• Select "Auto-clear recent searches when exiting IE" so there's a checkmark in the box next to it.
• Click "OK".
Yahoo! Toolbar for Firefox currently does not have the ability to automatically clear search history on exit.
