Why you should clear Windows Media Player history
Every song you listen to, movie you watch, etc are kept in Windows Media Player list. And when you open Windows Media Player, you can see a full list of your Windows Media Player history.
Windows Media Player keeps list of files and urls you have recently played that helps you find frequently played content easier but seriously compromises your privacy as anyone can see what movies you watched, what songs you listened to, what movies you watched etc.
If you don't want other people who use your computer see your Windows Media Player history, you should clear Windows Media Player history (clear recent playlist, recent files and urls list) and prevent Windows Media Player from storing history of what you played and watched in future.

How to clear recent play files and URLS
Lists of recent files and URLs are displayed in the following locations in the Player:
- in File menu (recently play list)
- in Open URL dialog box
- in Open dialog box
How to clear recent files in File menu
1. Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab and select More Options.
2. Open the Privacy tab.
3. To clear the existing lists, click Clear History button.
How to prevent recent playlist from storing:
1. Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab and select More Options.
2. Open the Privacy tab.
3. Remove the check mark from 'Save file and URL history in the Player' check box.
How to clear list of files from the Open dialog box
To clear files list from the Open dialog box, you should empty the list of recently used documents folder on your computer
